SUMMARY:Parenting Series: Autumn and Winter 2022-2023
DESCRIPTION:The Legacy We Leave\nOverview: Parenting is the art of bringing children up without tearing them down\, and it affects eternity\, for better or for worse. When you think about the legacy you will leave\, what do you think about? This series ensures that your name will be etched in their memories of a childhood well-lived because you laughed with them\, cried with them\, played with them\, celebrated them\, and noticed them. It will be a time to think about your legacy because it is being written every day.\n  \n\nSession One: Underneath the Behavior	\n October 5\, 2022\nDescription: When we take the time to watch our children\, we begin to see just how wonderful\, unique and vulnerable they are at moments in their lives. They are in the throes of mastering the process of development and the skills of a lifetime. As parents\, it is essential to know what a child is grappling with developmentally\, and ways to shift our perspective. Seeing life through a child’s perspective is the best way to become aware of and compassionate toward his or her developmental needs. It takes many years of research to understand how children develop\, and this session pulls together the most consistent findings from neuroscience and decades of observations and experience so you can apply it in ways that are responsive to your child and family. \nIndividual and Family (up to 10ppl) Price: $20\nAgency\, Group and Organization Price (10+ people): $250\nScroll Down to Purchase Tickets \n\nSession Two: The Power of Love	\n November 2\, 2022\nDescription: Parenting can be the most gratifying and challenging responsibility imaginable. When parenting approaches miss the mark\, the next generation raises their children in a way that tries to correct the errors. Yet\, we can never miss the mark when we cultivate a relationship of with respectful love. Without it\, children question their inherent worth over an entire lifetime. The quality of the parent-child relationship matters. As one sixteen-year old in New Jersey stated\, “Loving me is the promise you made when you decided to have a child.” This session explores what is means to love respectfully. \nIndividual and Family (up to 10ppl) Price: $20\nAgency\, Group and Organization Price (10+ people): $250\nScroll Down to Purchase Tickets \n\nSession Three: Expectations\, Not Performance Standards\n	December 7\, 2022\nDescription: Every child possesses the inner wisdom to navigate life’s journey; parents serve as their guide. Our goal is not to clear an obstacle-clear path or provide limitless freedom and choices\, or to pressure them to perform to our pre-determined hopes and become blindly obedient\, but to watch for the dangers ahead and set clear expectations that position them for a life of success. This session examines the difference between expectations and performance standards the outcomes of each. \nIndividual and Family (up to 10ppl) Price: $20\nAgency\, Group and Organization Price (10+ people): $250\nScroll Down to Purchase Tickets \n\nSession Four: Learning for a Lifetime\n January 11\, 2022\nDescription: There are hundreds of things children could benefit from learning that would serve them for a lifetime. As I watched people board the Sky link at the Dallas-Fort Worth airport\, I began to wonder what became of letting older people have last seat available as an act of kindness and why the content on their phone was more important than the person standing next to them. \nI started to think\, what were the things I thought were important for my children to know. The question for this session is “What would be on your list?” \nIndividual and Family (up to 10ppl) Price: $20\nAgency\, Group and Organization Price (10+ people): $250\nScroll Down to Purchase Tickets \n\nSession Five: Help Your Child Develop Good Judgment\n February 8\, 2022\nDescription: No one is born with good judgment and an ability to make wise decisions. This is a skill that children learn through experience combined with reflection. Dr. Kerr L. White said\, “Judgment develops from experience; good judgment develops from bad experiences.” In this session\, we will explore how we as parents and care-givers can give our children experience in making decisions\, giving them the opportunity to reflect on those decisions and learn from them. \nIndividual and Family (up to 10ppl) Price: $20\nAgency\, Group and Organization Price (10+ people): $250\nScroll Down to Purchase Tickets \n\nSession Six: Cultivating A Sense of Conscience	\n March 8\, 2022\nDescription: We have all heard stories about children who have infringed on the rights of others. sometimes seriously. We may wonder how or why this happens. Part of the answer may be a weak or lacking sense of conscience. There is little or no sense of obligation to act responsibly because the child has not been held to the highest standards of character. This session explores how we can guide children toward knowing what is right\, loving what is right\, and living what is right\, not just for their benefit but for the benefit of others. \nIndividual and Family (up to 10ppl) Price: $20\nAgency\, Group and Organization Price (10+ people): $250\nScroll Down to Purchase Tickets \n\nSession Seven: Embrace Your Child’s Riches\n April 5\, 2022\nDescription: A proverb states\,” The greatest good you can do for another is not to share your riches\, but to reveal to him his own.” When the right conditions are present in the environment\, the areas in which a child is destined to make their greatest contributions will reveal themselves. This session examines what the right conditions are and how we support our child’s passions and strengths. \nIndividual and Family (up to 10ppl) Price: $20\nAgency\, Group and Organization Price (10+ people): $250\nScroll Down to Purchase Tickets \n\nSession Eight: Teaching Your Children How to Be Angry\n May 3\, 2022\nDescription: “Do not teach your children never to be angry; teach them how to be angry.” Lyman Abbott\nThis is one of the most critical tasks of childhood…. learning to tolerate the wounds of everyday life without moving into reactive anger. Children (and adults!) who can do this are able to work things out with others and manage themselves to achieve their goals. Anger is a normal\, healthy and universal emotion. What does “constructive” handling of anger look like? In this session\, we will discuss what anger may look like for different children. We will explore the common triggers of anger and how we can prevent it from happening whenever possible. \nMay 3\, 2023\n6:30–8:00pm

It’s a matter of aligning with basic principles that empower you to take whatever action is most effective in your situation. At the end of this session\, you will have created a plan for a nurturing family culture where all family members deeply and genuinely enjoy being together. \nIndividual and Family Price: $20\nAgency\, Group and Organization Price: $250\nScroll Down to Purchase Tickets \n\nDo Not Fix or Change Me\, I Am Not Broken\nNovember 4\, 2021: 6:30-8:00 PM \nChildren are not things to be molded\, but people to be unfolded. Each enters this world with their very own set of “designer genes.” These genes influence how each child relates\, acts and interacts with the environment that surrounds him or her. It boggles my mind to think we have somehow become a culture so obsessed with how children perform and who we believe they must become that we have lost sight of who they are and what they are experiencing each day. The over emphasis on performance\, data and outcomes has become a trigger to dis-regulation\, according to a Harvard University study. This segment begins with self-reflection on our behavioral style to identify potential biases and examines ways to adjust our practices to honor the “designer genes” of each child we interact with each day. We will entertain the neuroscience and strategies that supports the “right” expectations for each child. \nIndividual and Family Price: $20\nAgency\, Group and Organization Price: $250\nScroll Down to Purchase Tickets \n\nDeveloping Children Through Effective Discipline\nDecember 9\, 2021: 6:30-8:00 PM \nBehaviors that challenge us are a function of the interaction between a child’s nature and the demands of an environment. When working with these behaviors\, the only sound type of discipline is self-discipline. So how do we develop a comprehensive system that is anchored in sound principles\, protects a child’s dignity\, and achieves self-discipline? This session examines an approach that transcends traditional behavior management techniques based in coercion and embraces an approach that empowers others through our influence. \nIndividual and Family Price: $20\nAgency\, Group and Organization Price: $250\nScroll Down to Purchase Tickets \n\nSticks and Stones: Communicating Effectively\nJanuary 13\, 2022: 6:30-8:00 PM \nEffective communication requires a high level of self-awareness and a toolbox of skills. These skills include speaking\, listening and responding so we achieve mutual understanding and responsive interaction. This session examines our personal style of communication and ways to communicate so we get the responses we expect from our children. \nIndividual and Family Price: $20\nAgency\, Group and Organization Price: $250\nScroll Down to Purchase Tickets \n\nThe Missing Priority: Emotional Intelligence\nFebruary 3\, 2022: 6:30-8:00 PM \n“To educate the mind\, without educating the heart is no education at all\,” according to Aristotle. And\, future success in academics and in life is the mastery and application of emotional intelligence. The critical time for its development is childhood\, however it continues throughout adolescence. This series examines the facets of intrapersonal and interpersonal intelligences. It is filled with cutting edge insights and approaches that ensure the development of self-awareness\, self-discipline\, social cognition and social skills\, including the best way to form and maintain friendships. \nIndividual and Family Price: $20\nAgency\, Group and Organization Price: $250\nScroll Down to Purchase Tickets \n\nRaising A Child of Strong Character\nMarch 10\, 2022: 6:30-8:00 PM \nSocial change has been building slowly to one that idealizes the worth\, dignity and autonomy of the individual\, over community. It emphasizes rights and entitlement more than responsibility; freedom more than commitment and loyalty. This has resulted i a general rebellion against authority\, an increase in the destruction of property\, and the erosion of values\, including but not limited to respect\, honesty\, diligence\, and compassion. This session examines the how to teach the values that are so desperately needed in today’s society. \nIndividual and Family Price: $20\nAgency\, Group and Organization Price: $250\nScroll Down to Purchase Tickets \n\nReady or Not\, Here I Come\nApril 14\, 2022: 6:30-8:00 PM \nIn the year 2000\, the national mandate became “all children will enter school ready to learn.” The national goals panel adopted this mantra as its first in the education reform movement and defined school readiness as mastery of a pre-determined set of skills. Current research in the field of neuroscience has identified that readiness begins in the womb and is determined in large measure by the early life experiences and the environment a child lives and grows in. Readiness does not happen at the same time or in the same way for all children. This session examines school readiness from the point of conception through the period of school adjustment. \nIndividual and Family Price: $20\nAgency\, Group and Organization Price: $250\nScroll Down to Purchase Tickets

SUMMARY:Online Series: Reaching the Seemingly Unreachable
DESCRIPTION:This series will be hosted on ZOOM at the designated times. Upon registration\, you will receive a link to the ZOOM event via email before the start of the event. You may register to attend individual trainings or the complete 5-training series. Registration closes 7 days before the start of the event.\n  \nNot My Opposition\nMay 4: 7-8:30 PM \nAs children explore the world around them\, nearly all will test boundaries and challenge authority. While most become more cooperative by the end of the third year of life\, some continually defy any attempt to discipline them and seemingly reject authority all together. This session provides insight into children who struggle for power and the approaches that help them get unstuck so they listen and respect.\n    \nI Want It Now\nMay 11: 7-8:30 PM \nIn today’s world\, many well-intentioned parents provide their children with plenty of things and experiences to keep them occupied and happy. While on the surface this may seem like an effective parenting philosophy\, under the surface are children trapped in entitlement and anxiety. How do we move beyond raising children who grow up with the expectation that the good life will always be available for the asking without the need to develop personal accountability and sacrifice? This session looks at ways to foster responsibility and grit as essential elements for a child’s success.\n    \nBreaking the Cycle of Anger\nMay 25: 7-8:30 PM \nThere are several perspectives about the emotion of anger. Some view it as wrong\, and therefore it is to be suppressed; others believe it should be vented fully\, even if in destructive ways; yet both of these are extremes. This session examines a framework for understanding anger and the proven ways to change the cycle of rage.\n    \nStanding at Attention\nJune 1: 7-8:30 PM \nHow many times have we heard someone say\, “Pay attention!”? Do we really understand what that entails? Attention can be thought of broadly as a complex system of brain controls that allows us to energize and regulate our thinking and daily activities. This session examines all 14 of the attention controls and what we can do to strengthen those that are causing challenges.\n    \nFreeing Children from Worry\nJune 15: 7-8:30 PM \nMost children are afraid of the dark and monsters. Some are scared of bugs and heights. But there are others who have excessive fears and worries that hold them back from living joyfully. This session is a brief journey into ways to transform fear and worry into something more pleasurable.\n    \nThe Gift of Sensitivity\nJune 22: 7-8:30 PM \nBased on research and professional experience\, sensitivity is a normal variation in innate temperament. Highly sensitive are those born with a tendency to notice more in their environment and deeply reflect on everything before acting. As a result\, sensitive children tend to be empathic\, intuitive\, creative\, cautious and conscientious. They are also more overwhelmed by “high volume” or large quantities of input arriving at once. They try to avoid this but when it is not possible to do so\, they seem easily upset. If this sounds like a child you know\, this session is for you.

SUMMARY:Online Series: Parenting for Greatness
DESCRIPTION:This series will be hosted on ZOOM at the designated times. Upon registration\, you will receive a link to the ZOOM event via email before the start of the event. You may register to attend individual trainings or the complete 5-training series. Registration closes 7 days before the start of the event.\n  \nParenting in A Complex and Complicated World\nFebruary 23: 7:30-9 PM\n \nDescription: As a parent of three grown children\, I have learned that the journey of parenting is full of tests one cannot study for\, as well as important lessons- some that repeat over and over again. I learned that things work until they don’t and when they don’t\, how helpless and confused one can feel. I learned how exhausted a human being can become and that parenting is not for the faint of heart. This session is designed to inspire you to reflect on your vision of what it takes to raise thriving children in a complex and complicated world.\n    \nDiscovering the Hero Within\nMarch 2: 7:30-9 PM\n \nDescription: Children are not things to be molded\, but people to be unfolded. While all children share common developmental characteristics\, each has been gifted with his or her very own set of designer genes. This session reveals the layers of greatness waiting to be discovered so we can celebrate the hero within each set of designer genes.\n    \nWhat Children Need Now More Than Ever Before\nMarch 9: 7:30-9 PM\n \nDescription: Childhood is calling! Will you answer? There is no doubt that this short and precious stage of development has changed over the past 25 years. In the past\, childhood was a time in life marked by imagination\, make believe\, games and hanging out – a time of spontaneity\, creativity and curiosity. The word play evoked images of dolls and trucks\, dress up and hide and seek\, or hopscotch and jumping rope. Today\, play is not valued and childhood has become a pressure cooker for many. This session will address ways to put the child back in childhood\, including supporting the sense of innocence and wonder.\n    \nDoing What Comes Naturally\nMarch 16: 7:30-9 PM\n \nDescription: Our children seem to be so plugged into electronics and spend most of their waking hours in structured indoor experiences that they have lost their connection to the natural world. Yet\, when explored\, nature has a positive and direct effect on their overall physical and mental health. It is human natures natural tranquilizer and it’s available at no cost. This session addresses the fundamental idea behind the movement “Leave no child inside.”\n    \nCultivating Leadership\nMarch 23: 7:30-9 PM\n \nDescription: Children have a way of becoming what we encourage them to be\, not what we nag them to be. They live life as an adventure; their security lies in their initiative\, resourcefulness\, creativity\, courage and integrity. Through these\, they have the opportunity to transform their lives in the best possible ways and influence others in authentic ways. This session examines the concept of transformational leadership and how to cultivate it in your kids.\n
